OBSTETRIC CONSULTATION
Obstetrics is dedicated to monitoring during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum.
If there is no problem that precedes birth, the child is normally born around the fortieth (40th) week of gestation (this is the number of weeks counted to establish the probable date of birth) or 9 months after fertilization.
Family history is relevant in pregnancy planning. By knowing about the existence of syndromes, genetic changes or potential associated problems (preterm birth, miscarriages, among others), the doctor can better advise the woman at this stage.
Prenatal follow-up
The obstetrician performs routine examinations during pregnancy, monitoring the development of the fetus, the health of the mother and addressing any complications that may arise.
Pregnancy Complications
The obstetrician diagnoses and treats complications that may arise during pregnancy, such as gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia and problems related to the placenta.
Childbirth and Birth
The obstetrician attends the birth, whether vaginal or cesarean, ensuring a safe environment for mother and baby.
Postpartum Care
After the birth, the obstetrician continues to accompany the mother, monitoring her physical and emotional recovery and providing health care to the newborn.
The obstetrician plays a fundamental role in managing pregnancy and caring for mothers and babies during the perinatal period.
It is important that pregnant women receive adequate prenatal care and are monitored by an obstetrician to ensure a healthy pregnancy and safe birth.

NEOBONA PRENATAL TEST
The new generation of non-invasive prenatal testing - Neobona
Detects the risk of the most common trisomies, without risks for the mother and fetus!
Detects the most common chromosomal abnormalities in pregnancy by studying the fetal DNA present in the mother's blood.
provides highly reliable results for screening:
Most common chromosomal aneuploidies (Trisomies 21, 18 and 13)
Sex chromosome aneuploidies and fetal sex determination
(baby's sex)
This Neobona test inspires confidence in parents, as it allows the detection of chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus from the 10th week of pregnancy.
The sensitivity of conventional screening is around 90%, which means that out of every 100 fetuses with Down syndrome (trisomy 21), 10 would not be detected (false negatives).
The overall sensitivity of the Neobona test is greater than 99% for Down (cr.21), Edwards (cr.18) and Patau (cr.13) syndromes.
The specificity of conventional screening is 95%, which means that out of every 100 healthy fetuses, 5 are wrongly classified as high risk, causing anxiety and requiring additional prenatal diagnostic tests, such as amniocentesis.
The high specificity of the Neobona test allows the number of false positives to be reduced to less than 1 in every 1500 pregnancies, reducing anxiety and unnecessary invasive procedures.
The Neobona non-invasive prenatal test is indicated in the following cases:
It is indicated from the 10th week of pregnancy
It can be carried out in cases of medically assisted reproduction, including IVF with gamete donation
Suitable for twin pregnancies
It is a genetic screening test and, as such, must be prescribed by a doctor
